Enterprise Architect (EA) von SparxSystems Ltd (Creswick, Australien) ist ein Softwaremodellierungswerkzeug, dessen Kernfähigkeit die UML Modellierung mit Round Trip Engineering darstellt. Es unterstützt außerdem Anforderungsmanagement, Model Driven Architecture, Business Process Modeling und SysML. Außerdem sind kostenpflichtige Addins integrierbar, die die parallele Entwicklung mit EA und Microsoft Visual Studio, Eclipse oder Telelogic DOORS vereinfachen. Außerdem liefert Enterprise Architect eine API zur Entwicklung eigener Addins mit.

Enterprise Architect unterstützt viele verbreitete Sprachen wie C++, C#, Java, Delphi, VB.Net, Visual Basic, ActionScript, PHP, Python und über ein Add-on auch CORBA in der Generierung und der Code-Rückführung (nicht in allen Versionen) von Software.

Verbreitung

Enterprise Architect ist bedingt durch seinen vergleichsweise günstigen Preis und seiner frühen Umsetzung von UML 2 weit verbreitet[2] und hat laut eigenen Angaben über 250 000 registrierte Nutzer weltweit.[3]
