Fortis Investment Management

Fortis Investment Management (FIM) ist eine internationale Investmentgesellschaft. Sie ist ein Tochterunternehmen der BNP Paribas Fortis.

Das Unternehmen beschäftigte 2008 etwa 2000 Mitarbeiter, davon etwa 500 investmentbanker in 40 Filialen in über 30 Ländern.[1] Es hat 1862 institutionelle Kunden und 1845 Vertriebspartner. Das verwaltete Vermögen hat sich von 72,7 Mrd. Euro im Jahre 2002 auf fast 170 Mrd. Euro im Jahre 2008 erhöht.[2] Aufgrund der Finanzkrise 2008 und der Probleme der Fortis Holding verminderte sich bis zur Jahresbilanz 2008 das verwaltete Vermögen um 29,9 Mrd. Euro.[3] Im Jahre 2008 wurde ein Gewinn von 73,95 Mio. Euro erwirtschaftet.[4]

Am 1. April 2008 wurde die Investmentabteilung der niederländischen Bank ABN AMRO von Fortis Investment übernommen.[5] Guy de Froment wurde Anfang Juni 2009 neuer CEO der FIM. [6]

Im Zeitraum vom 1. Oktober 2007 bis zum 1. April 2008 hat Ping An für 24,02 Mrd. RMB bzw. 2,15 Mrd. Euro einen Anteil von 50 Prozent an der Fortis Investment Management erworben.[7][8]
