Ghafir (غفير Ghafīr, DMG Ġafīr) ist die arabische Bezeichnung für Wächter oder Wachposten.
In Ägypten bezeichnet man hiermit häufig die Wächter der antiken Monumente und nutzt hierfür auch in der nicht-arabischsprachigen Literatur meist das Wort Ghafir, obwohl es einfach zu übersetzen wäre. Gleichzeitig dient es zur Anrede für diese Personen.
