Glong Tum

Glong Tum: Die Glong Tum (in Thai: กลองตุ้ม) gehört zur Gruppe der Membranophone und wird im südlichen Issan, dem Nordosten von Thailand gespielt.

Die Glong Tum ist eine zweiseitig spielbare Trommel, wobei das Trommelfell aus Kalbfell besteht. Der Klangkörper selbst ist aus Hartholz gefertigt. Die Trommel wird an einem Pfosten aufgehängt und mit Schlegeln geschlagen.

Die Glong Tum wird als Signal bei Tempelzeremonien und Begräbnissen eingesetzt.
