HMS Pandora

HMS Pandora war der Name mehrerer Schiffe in der Geschichte der britischen Royal Navy.

  • Die erste HMS Pandora war eine Fregatte der Bounty und strandete auf dem Great Barrier Reef.
  • Die zweite Brigg mit 14 Kanonen. Das ursprünglich französische Schiff mit dem Namen Pandour wurde 1795 durch die Royal Navy gekapert.
  • Die dritte Kanonenboot in Holzbauweise, das 1859 vom Stapel lief. Das Schiff wurde 1875 und erneut 1878 verkauft und in USS Jeanette umbenannt. Es unternahm mehrere Reisen in die Arktis. Dort ist es 1881 im Eis eingefroren und gesunken.
  • Die siebente Kreuzer der Depotschiff. Das unter dem Namen Seti laufende Handelsschiff wurde 1914 angekauft und 1924 in Dolphin umbenannt. 1939 lief es auf eine Mine und sank.
  • Die zehnte U-Boot der Valetta, wurde im Folgejahr gehoben und 1957 abgewrackt.
