Hex-Pick-Up

Ein Hex-Pick-Up oder hexaphonischer Pickup ist ein "sechsfach Tonabnehmer" für elektrische Gitarren und verwandte Instrumente mit einem separaten Ausgang für jede Saite.

Damit ist eine getrennte Verarbeitung und Verstärkung jeder einzelnen Saite möglich. Im Gegensatz zum Hex-Pick-Up liefert ein normaler E-Gitarrentonabnehmer die Signale aller Saiten gemeinsam auf einem einzigen Ausgang.

Das heute gängige Anwendungsgebiet für Hex-Pick-Ups ist die Verwendung als Tonabnehmer für sog. Gitarrensynthesizer oder Guitar-to-MIDI-Systeme.

In den 80er Jahren des 20. Jahrhunderts hatte die Firma Kramer Guitars eine E-Gitarre im Programm, die einen Hex-Pick-Up benutzte, um das verstärkte Gitarrensignal pro Saite in einem Stereo-Panorama anzuordnen.
