High Altitude Platform

Eine Höhenplattform (englisch high altitude platform (station), HAP(S)) ist ein Oberbegriff für quasistationäre, unbemannte Flugobjekte in großer Höhe.

Die Höhenplattform kann zur Überwachung (Verkehr, Veranstaltung, Wetter) oder bei entsprechender Höhe sogar für Mobilfunk ohne die von Satelliten bekannte Verzögerung eingesetzt werden.

Derzeit (2004) sind alle Projekte in Entwicklung oder im Experimentierstadium. Als Trägersysteme sollen Flugzeuge oder Luftschiffe zum Einsatz kommen.

  • ARC - Airborne Relay Communications/USA, Basis:Prallluftschiff (Abgeleitet von Fesselballonen)
  • HAA - High Altidude Airship, Lockheed Martin (USA), Basis: Solarluftschiff
  • HALE - High Altidude Long Endurance (damals DASA) auf Basis eines Prallluftschiffes (siehe auch MALE (Medium Altitude))
  • SPA - Statospheric Platform Airship (NLA/Japan) Basis: Kielluftschiff Projekt des japanischen Wissenschaftsbehörde und des Ministeriums für Post und Telekommunikation
  • Skystation - (USA), Basis: Prallluftschiff
  • StratSat - (Großbritannien) - Advanced Technology Group (ATG), Basis: Prallluftschiff
  • HALO - High Altitude and Long Range Research Aircraft
  • Proteus, bemanntes Höhenflugzeug/USA
  • CHHAPP - Composite Hull High Altitude Powered Platform (USA): Familie von militärischen und wissenschaftlichen Höhenluftschiffen.
    • HiSentinel, Southwest Reseach Institute/USA in Zusammenarbeit mit US-Militär (CHHAPP-Projekt), Basis: unbemanntes Prallluftschiff, 44,5 m lang, erreichte am 8. November 2005 eine Flughöhe von 22 555 m (74 000 ft). Wird schlaff gestartet und bekommt seine Form erst mit dem sich ausdehnenden Gas.
  • SkyTower - AeroVironment/USA, Prototyp: Helios-Solarflugzeug
  • AVCS - Gerneral Atomics/USA ist auch Produzent von Aufklärungsdrohnen
  • Heliplat - Helio Platform ASI-Italian Space Agency, Basis: Solarflugzeug
  • Stratellite - Sanswire Networks, LLC/USA, Basis: Solar-Starrluftschiff, Jungfernflug des militärischen Prototyps war im Herbst 2005.
  • Südkorea: 50m-Luftschiff mit 4.000 m² Korea Aerospace Research Institute (KARI) in Zusammenarbeit mit Aeros
  • Aerosphere - (USA), kugelförmiges Prallluftschiff
