Home Monitoring

Home Monitoring bezeichnet ein Verfahren, bei dem Lebensfunktionen eines Patienten durch einen Arzt fernüberwacht werden können. Der Patient kann dabei sein normales Leben weiterführen.

Das System versorgt den Arzt online mit aktuellen Informationen z. B. über seine Herzschrittmacher- und Defibrillatorpatienten. Es werden medizinische sowie technische Daten vom Implantat an ein Patientengerät gesendet, das ähnlich wie ein Mobiltelefon arbeitet.

Die Datenübertragung vom Implantat zum Patientengerät erfolgt über einen speziellen, im Implantat eingebauten Sender. Vom Patientengerät erreichen die Daten über das Mobilfunknetz ein zentrales Service Center, wo sie analysiert und dargestellt werden. Der gesamte Informationsfluss ist vollständig automatisiert.

Bei lebensbedrohlichen Zuständen kann eine automatische Alarmierung des Arztes erfolgen, so dass unter Umständen lebensrettende Hilfe veranlasst werden kann.
