IT-Asset

Als IT-Asset (von englisch asset: Aktivposten, Anlagegut, Vermögen) wird ein Wert (materiell und immateriell) im Bereich der Datenverarbeitung bezeichnet, dessen Beeinträchtigung negative Folgen für ein Unternehmen hätte.

IT-Assets sind größtenteils Anwendungen und Datenbestände. Jedoch können auch physische ("Hardware") IT-Komponenten ein IT-Asset darstellen. In der Regel werden die IT-Assets betrachtet, die für das Unternehmen einen hohen materiellen Wert aufweisen.
