Die International Data Group (IDG) ist ein Verlag, der auf die Herausgabe von Fachzeitschriften, Veranstaltungen und Webseiten im IT-Bereich spezialisiert ist. IDG wurde 1964 in Boston von Patrick McGovern gegründet.

IDG publiziert über 300 Zeitschriften in 85 Ländern; es existieren sechs globale Produktlinien: Computerworld/Infoworld (dt: Computerwoche, CH: Computerworld), CIO, Macworld (dt. Macwelt), Network World, Games (GameStar und GamePro) und PC World (dt: PC-Welt), in denen über 175 Titel erscheinen. Patrick McGovern ist nach wie vor Inhaber und Vorstand von IDG.

zusammengefasst. Sitz der Gruppe ist 80807 München, Lyonel-Feininger-Str. 26.

Die IDG Communications Media AG ist eine 100prozentige Tochter der IDG Inc., Boston. Der einzige Deutsche im Vorstand der deutschen AG ist York von Heimburg, Aufsichtsratsvorsitzender ist Patrick McGovern.

IDG publiziert in Deutschland die Magazine Computerwoche, PC-Welt, Macwelt, CIO, ChannelPartner, NMag, GamePro, GameStar, Making Games Magazin sowie Inside PS3 nebst den entsprechenden Webseiten. Dazu kommen die Online-Magazine tecCHANNEL.de, Digital World und central-it.de.
