Die Wahl zum International Mr. Leather wird seit 1979 jährlich in Chicago ausgetragen. Über 50 Kandidaten der Lederszene aus Europa, den Vereinigten Staaten, Australien oder Kanada nehmen jedes Jahr an der Wahl teil. Auf der Website findet sich auch eine Auflistung der Gewinner seit 1979. Seit 1998 ist regelmäßig auch (mindestens) ein deutscher Teilnehmer dabei.
