Jack Norworth

Jack Norworth (* 5. Januar 1879 in Philadelphia; † 1. September 1959 in Laguna Beach, Kalifornien) war ein US-amerikanischer Lyriker, Komponist und Produzent.

Er war verheiratet mit Nora Bayes, von der er sich 1913 wieder scheiden ließ. Norworth lieferte u. a. Texte zu den Ziegfeld Follies of 1908 und den Ziegfeld Follies of 1931. Bekannt wurde auch seine Baseballhymne Take Me Out to the Ball Game von 1908, die er während einer U-Bahn-Fahrt schrieb und die innerhalb kürzester Zeit zum Hit wurde. 1927 kam eine überarbeitete Version heraus, heutzutage kann man den Song auch als Bilderbuch (z. B. ISBN 0689824335) kaufen.
