Kasab, manchmal auch Kassab oder Kessab geschrieben, (arabisch ‏كسب‎, DMG Kasab, armenisch Քեսապ) ist eine syrische Stadt im Gouvernement Latakia im Nordwesten des Landes mit etwa 3.500 Einwohnern.

Lage

Kasab liegt 3 km von der türkischen Grenze und 17 km vom Mittelmeer entfernt auf 800 m Höhe. Das Städtchen ist von Kiefernwäldern umgeben und wird als Sommerfrische geschätzt.

Geschichte

Die Bevölkerung ist seit mehr als tausend Jahren mehrheitlich armenisch. Außerdem leben dort Nusairier.
