Der Know-how-Computer war ein „Computer“, den man einfach mit einem Bogen Papier und einzelnen Streichhölzern zusammenbauen konnte. Damit konnte jeder Interessierte lernen, wie man richtig programmiert, ohne einen elektronischen Computer zur Verfügung zu haben. Somit diente dieser „Computer“ als pädagogische Hilfe im Bereich der Informatik. Der Know-how- oder Papiercomputer wurde von Wolfgang Back und Ulrich Rohde entwickelt und in der Fernsehsendung WDR Computerclub im Jahre 1983 erstmals vorgestellt.

Der „Computer“ arbeitete auf Papier; als Informationseinheiten wurden Streichhölzer verwendet. Nur fünf Befehle reichten aus, um alle mathematischen Funktionen darstellen zu können. Dieser Übungscomputer auf Papier wurde damals in über 400.000 Exemplaren verschickt und gehörte somit zu den Computern mit der weitesten Verbreitung.
