Leif Ove Andsnes (* 7. April 1970 in Karmøy) ist ein norwegischer Pianist.

Leben

Nach seinem Studium am Musikkonservatorium Bergen bei Jiri Hlinka debütierte Leif Ove Andsnes 1987 in Oslo. Er absolvierte Soloauftritte unter anderem in Amsterdam, Bologna, London und München.

Andsnes wurde mit dem Norwegischen Kritikerpreis und dem Dorothy Chandler Award in Los Angeles ausgezeichnet. Beim Hindemith-Wettbewerb in Frankfurt erlangte er den ersten Platz. Für seine Einspielung von Klavierwerken Leoš Janáčeks wurde ihm der Deutsche Schallplattenpreis verliehen.

Einspielungen

Andsnes hat unter anderem Werke von Frédéric Chopin, Sergei Rachmaninow, Edvard Grieg, Leoš Janáček, Franz Liszt und Sergei Prokofjew auf Tonträger eingespielt.
