Kullu (Hindi: कुल्लू, Kullū) ist eine Stadt im nordindischen Himachal Pradesh und Verwaltungssitz des gleichnamigen Distriktes mit 18.306 Einwohnern [2].

Der Ort liegt am Flussbett der Beas im Kullu-Tal auf ca. 1200m Höhe. Etwa neun Kilometer südlich befindet sich der Flughafen Bhuntar [3].

Kullu ist das traditionelle Zentrum des nördlichen Himachal Pradesh und Sitz des Rajas von Kullu, der zwar seit Mitte des 19. Jahrhunderts formell entmachtet ist, aber auch heute noch eine wichtige Rolle spielt: sowohl als "Gastgeber" zur Versammlung der lokalen Gottheiten des Tales, dem "Kullu Dussehra" (einem der bedeutendsten religiösen Feste Indiens) als auch als gewählter Abgeordneter des Indischen Parlaments (Lok Sabha).

Kullu ist ein Handelszentrum. Hauptwirtschaftsfaktoren sind dabei Landwirtschaft (Äpfel, Pflaumen, Erbsen und Mandeln; roter Reis) und Kunsthandwerk. Daneben spielt der Tourismus (indische Touristen; weniger Ausländer) eine wichtige Rolle.
