Ann Wilson

Ann Dustin Wilson (* 19. Juni 1950 in San Diego, Kalifornien, USA) ist die Frontsängerin der Gruppe Heart.

Karriere

Wilson trat Anfang der 1970er Jahre einer lokalen Band namens White Heart bei. Ihre jüngere Schwester Nancy folgte 1974, als Gitarrist Michael Fisher eine andere Position in der Band einnahm. Das erste Album der Gruppe unter dem neuen Namen Heart erschien 1977 unter dem Titel Dreamboat Annie.

Wilson eröffnete Mitte der 1990er Jahre zusammen mit ihrer Schwester ihr eigenes Aufnahmestudio mit dem Namen Bad Animals. Ein weiteres Bandprojekt Wilsons The Lovemongers steuerte einige Songs zum Soundtrack zum Film Singles ihres Schwagers, Cameron Crowe, und veröffentlichte 4 EPs. Das Debüt der Band Whirlygig erschien 1997. Das Heart-Album Jupiter's Darling erschien im Juni 2004.

Wilson hat eine Tochter, Marie (adoptiert 1991), und einen Sohn, Dustin (adoptiert 1998).
