Langtang

Langtang ist eine Region in Nepal nördlich von Kathmandu an der Grenze zu Tibet. Sie steht als Nationalpark unter Schutz, in diesem Gebiet finden sich einige sehr hohe Gipfel, beispielsweise der Langtang Lirung (7246 m).

Ungefähr 4500 Menschen leben im Park, weit mehr nutzen die Wälder des Parks für Nutz- und Feuerholz. Die Mehrzahl der Einwohner gehört den Tamang an.

Der Park beinhaltet eine große Bandbreite an Klimazonen, vom subtropischen Klima bis zur nivalen Stufe. Ungefähr 25 Prozent des Parks sind bewaldet.
