Das Linux Userland Filesystem (LUFS) ist ein Dateisystem unter Linux, das es – ähnlich zu FUSE – ermöglicht, Dateisystemtreiber aus dem Kernel-Mode in den User-Mode zu verlagern. Mit LUFS ist es unter anderem möglich, entfernte Verzeichnisse über SSH, FTP oder Gnutella zu mounten. Wie bei FUSE auch, können Dateisystemtreiber für LUFS mit geringem Aufwand vergleichbar mit einer normalen Anwendung entwickelt werden. Mit der Aufnahme von FUSE in den Linux-Kernel hat LUFS an Bedeutung verloren, und wird nicht mehr weiter entwickelt.
