Die MT Aerospace AG produziert Komponenten in den Bereichen Luft- und Raumfahrt, sowie Antennenbau und Mechatronik. Mit einer Belegschaft von ca. 650 Mitarbeitern in den Standorten Augsburg, Mainz, Wolverhampton in Großbritannien und Kourou in Französisch-Guyana belief sich der Umsatz 2008 auf ca. 120 Mio. Euro. Die Raumfahrt-Sparte ist mit rund 70% Umsatzanteil Haupteinnahmequelle des Unternehmens.

Verfahrenstechniken

An Herstelltechniken für diese Produkte und bezahlte Anwendungsentwicklungen sind verschiedene, zum Teil sehr fortschrittliche Verfahrenstechniken im Einsatz:

  • Fließdrücken von Stahlringen zu Boostergehäusen der Ariane 5
  • Kryoumformungen von Metallen zu Tankkomponenten
  • Gewebeablege- und Faserwickeltechniken für die Herstellung von CFK-Komponenten
  • Vakuuminfusionstechnik für CFK-Bauteile im Bereich der Luftfahrt- und Raumfahrttechnik
  • Chemical-Vapour-Infiltration-Verfahren (CVI-Verfahren) zur Herstellung von Verbundkeramik-Komponenten

Geschichte

Die MT Aerospace AG entstand im Juli 2005 nach dem Aufkauf der Aktien des Tochterunternehmens MAN Technologie AG der MAN AG durch die OHB Technology AG, Bremen, und die Apollo Capital Partners GmbH, München.
