Margaret Stuart

Prinzessin Margaret von Schottland aus dem Hause Stuart (* 25. Dezember 1424 in Perth, Schottland; † 16. August 1445 in Chalons-sur-Marne, Frankreich) war durch ihre Heirat Kronprinzessin von Frankreich (Dauphine de France); französisch Marguerite d'Écosse.

Leben

Margarethe war die älteste Tochter des schottischen König Jakob I. Stuart und dessen Ehefrau Joan Beaufort, Tochter von John Beaufort, 1. Earl of Somerset.

Am 24. Juni 1436 heiratete sie in Tours den ältesten Sohn des französischen Königs Karl VII., den Dauphin und späteren König Ludwig XI. von Frankreich. Die Ehe galt als unglücklich und blieb kinderlos. Margarethe stirbt zwanzig-jährig und wurde in Thouars bestattet.
