Die heutige Arctic P ist ein ehemaliger Schlepper und war einst unter dem Namen Arctic das Schwesterschiff des Hochseebergungsschleppers Oceanic.

Geschichte

Die Arctic wurde 1969 in Bremerhaven von der Werft F. Schichau für die Bugsier-, Reederei- und Bergungsgesellschaft gebaut und am 30. Dezember abgeliefert. Wie ihr Schwesterschiff, die Oceanic, gehörte sie zu den leistungsfähigsten Schleppern, die je gebaut wurden. Sie hatte einen Pfahlzug von 189 t aufzuweisen.

1975 wurde sie bei Schichau mit zwei Kortdüsen nachgerüstet, zehn Jahre später erhielt sie bei der gleichen Firma zwei neue Hauptmaschinen. Sie war bis 1990 bei der Bugsier im Einsatz und wurde 1993 an die Dubliner Firma Magenta Investment verkauft. Hier erhielt sie den Namen Arctic Research. Ein Jahr später wurde sie in Arctic P umbenannt und zur Yacht umgebaut.
