Der Mount Ellsworth ist mit 2.925 m der höchste Gipfel zwischen dem Steagall- und dem Amundsen-Gletscher. Diese bilden einen Teilabschnitt des Königin-Maud-Gebirges in der Antarktis.[1]

Entdeckt wurde er im späten November 1929 von Richard Evelyn Byrd während seines Überflugs über die Antarktis im Zuge seiner ersten Südpolexpedition. Benannt wurde der Berg nach dem US-amerikanischen Flugpionier und Polarforscher Lincoln Ellsworth.[1]
