Die Öleinheit (ÖE), auch Rohöleinheit (RÖE) genannt, oder englisch oil equivalent (oe), ist eine Maßeinheit für den Energieverbrauch, beispielsweise bei der Stromerzeugung oder Verbrennungsprozessen. Die häufig noch anzutreffende Steinkohleeinheit wird fast ausschließlich in deutschen Publikationen verwendet.

Der Energieverbrauch wird aus praktischen Erwägungen meist in Millionen oder Milliarden Tonnen angegeben, manchmal auch in Barrel. Die übliche Schreibweise dafür ist - in Kombination mit Mtoe (Megatonne Öleinheiten), Gtoe (für Gigatonne Öleinheiten) oder boe (Barrel Öleinheiten). Auch in deutschen Publikationen ist die Verwendung der englischen Bezeichnungen und Abkürzungen üblich.

Barrels of oil equivalant (boe, „Barrels Öleinheiten“) ist eine von Erdöl- und Erdgas-Unternehmen in ihren Finanzberichten benutzte Maßeinheit, mit der Erdöl- und Erdgas-Reserven sowie Fördermengen in einer Zahl zusammengefasst werden können.

Eine boe entspricht einem Barrel Erdöl oder 6000 Kubikfuß Erdgas, da der Energiegehalt von 1000 Kubikfuß Erdgas einem Sechstel des Energiegehaltes eines Barrels Erdöl entspricht.
