Der Intelligent Surveillance & Security Guard Robot ist ein von Samsung entwickelter Sicherheitsroboter. Finanziert wurde die Entwicklung von der südkoreanischen Regierung. Der Intelligent Surveillance & Security Guard Robot scannt mit Sensoren seine Umgebung und soll Menschen, Tiere, Fahrzeuge und Bäume erkennen können. Mithilfe eines Mustererkennung- und Spracherkennung soll der Roboter zwischen Freund und Feind unterscheiden können. Geplantes Einsatzgebiet ist die gefährliche Grenze zwischen Süd- und Nordkorea, wo der Roboter menschliche Soldaten ersetzen soll (Vorteile: kein Ermüden, keine Beeinträchtigung durch schlechte Sichtverhältnisse). Als Kampfwaffen stehen dem Roboter ein Gewehr oder Maschinengewehr und eine nicht tödliche Waffe (Tränengas oder Gummigeschosse) zur Verfügung.
