Open Source Webdesign (kurz OSWD) ist eine nicht-kommerzielle Website die freie Vorlagen für Internetseiten verbreitet.

Gegründet wurde OSWD vom US-Amerikaner Frank Skettino (bkenoah) im September 2000, um die Vorlagen, die er erstellt hatte, auch anderen zur Verfügung zu stellen, die vielleicht nicht so viel Zeit und Geduld hatten, um eine Vorlage zu erstellen. Jeder kann diese Vorlagen verwenden und auch eigene bei OSWD veröffentlichen.

Inzwischen werden die weit über 2000 Vorlagen von mehr als 100 kreativen Designern auf zahllosen Seiten verwendet.

Aaron Nikula (MonkeyMan), aktiver Betreuer von OSWD bis 2005, führt eine Abspaltung der originalen Seite unter openwebdesign.org weiter, wie ein Artikel auf Slashdot dokumentiert.
