Peradeniya (singhales. ˈpeːraˌdeniə) ist eine Kleinstadt im Distrikt Kandy im zentralen Bergland Sri Lankas. Ihr auf einer Halbinsel im Fluss Mahaweli gelegener botanischer Garten Royal Botanical Gardens of Peradeniya gilt als einer der schönsten Asiens und zieht jährlich ca. 1,2 Millionen Besucher an. Außerdem ist Peradeniya bekannt für die University of Peradeniya, die zweitälteste und mit ca. 8000 Studierenden größte Universität des Landes.
