Pukerua Bay ist ein Stadtteil von Porirua am südlichen Ende der Kapiti Coast in Neuseeland. Er liegt etwa 30 km nördlich von Wellington entfernt. Beim Zensus hatte der Ort 1996 1.665, 2001 1.692 und 2006 1.725 Einwohner[1]. Der Ort verfügt über zwei Eisenbahnhaltepunkte.

Die meisten Häuser in Pukerua Bay liegen auf einem Sattel zwischen zwei Hügeln, die etwa 60-80 m über dem Meeresspiegel ansteigen. Die Küste um den Ort ist sehr steil und hinter den zwei Strandzonen ist nur Raum für wenige Häuser. Zwei Wanderwege führen in die Gegend zwischen Pukerua Bay und Plimmerton 5 km südlich, der eine an der felsigen Küste und der andere an der Eisenbahnlinie entlang.

Pukerua Bay ist Geburtsort des Regisseurs Peter Jackson (Herr der Ringe). Jacksons erster Film (Bad Taste) wurde hier gedreht.

Auf Māori bedeutet das Wort pukerua "zwei Hügel".
