Die RS-14 Temp-2S war eine fahrzeuggebundene ballistische Interkontinentalrakete aus sowjetischer Produktion. Die NATO-Bezeichnung lautet SS-16 Sinner. Der Systemindex der sowjetischen Streitkräfte lautet RT-21. Die RS-14 war bei der Indienststellung das weltweit erste mobile ICBM-System.

Entwicklung

Im Jahre 1969 begann man in den Konstruktionsbüro MITT und Nadiradze mit der Systementwicklung. Die RS-14 wurde 1971 bei den sowjetischen Streitkräften eingeführt. In den darauf folgenden Jahren wurden 60 Start- und Transportfahrzeuge sowie 200 Lenkwaffen hergestellt.

Die RS-14 bildete die Grundlagen für die späteren ICBM-Systeme RSD-10, RS-12M und RS-12M2.

Technik

Die RS-14 war eine dreistufige Feststoffstoffrakete. Als Treibstoff verwendete die RS-14 den PAL-17/7-Treibstoff auf der Basis von Butylkautschuk. Die Steuerung erfolgte mittels einer Trägheitsnavigationsplattform. Es wurde eine Präzision (CEP) von 500–1.300 m (je nach Schussdistanz) erreicht.

Das System war auf dem geländegängigen MAZ-547-12x10-LKW montiert. Der Systemindex der sowjetischen Streitkräfte für dieses Fahrzeug lautet 82SCP2. Das System war mobil und schnell verlegbar. Es wurde eine minimale Reaktionszeit aus voller Fahrt bis zum Raketenverschuss von unter 20 Minuten erreicht. Jedes Fahrzeug wurde mit einer 15Sch42-Rakete bestückt.

Status

Sämtliche RS-14-Systeme waren im Großraum von Plessezk stationiert. Im Zuge der SALT-II-Abrüstungsverhandlungen wurde alle Systeme im Jahre 1985 ausgemustert und verschrottet.
