Das Rapid Environmental Assessment Lab, kurz REAL, ist ein von Motorola in Offenbach gegründetes Labor zur chemischen Analyse von Werkstoffen. Ende des Jahres 2008 wurde das Labor vom VDE-Institut übernommen. Das Labor war u. a. wesentlich bei der Standardisierung der IEC-Norm 62321 beteiligt.
Folgende Untersuchungen werden von dem Labor durchgeführt:
Pro Jahr werden ca. 10.000 Prüfungen durchgeführt, darunter auch für das Joint Research Center der EU.[1]
