Registry

Registry (engl. für „Register“) steht für:

  • Domain Name Registry, eine Organisation, die Internet-Domains verwaltet
  • Eine allgemeine Bezeichnung für eine Datenbank oder andere Speicherform in der Computertechnik, die Registrierungszwecken dient, wobei diese Registrierung vielerlei Natur haben kann. Oftmals bezieht sich diese nicht auf Menschen, sondern auf Programme, im unten genannten Beispiel der Windows Registry etwa auf die Anmeldung und Konfiguration von Programmen gegenüber dem Betriebssystem. Verwandte Begriffe sind Repository oder auch Publish-Subscribe.
  • Windows-Registrierungsdatenbank, die Implementierung einer Registrierungsdatenbank im Betriebssystem Microsoft Windows
  • Registry (Chemie), eine spezielle geometrische Anordnung zweier regelmäßiger dreidimensionalen Strukturen zueinander (parallel registry)
