Repulsion

Repulsion (zu Lateinisch: repulsa [f.] = „Ab-/Zurückweisung“, repellere = „ab-/zurückweisen“, „ab-/weg-/zurückstoßen“, „zurückwerfen“, „widerhallen“ – von Französisch: répulsion = „Abstoßung“, „Abneigung“) ist:

  • im naturwissenschaftlich-technischen Bereich ein Rückstoß, eine Zurückstoßung rsp. eine Abstoßung (Begriffsklärung)
  • in der Philosophie ein Ausdruck – wie Attraktion und Repulsion: In der Phänomenologie taucht das Begriffspaar Attraktion (Begriffsklärung) und Repulsion auf in Bezug auf Fremdes und Neuartiges; etwas Fremdes und Unbekanntes übt eine gewisse Faszination sowie Anziehungskraft auf den Beobachter aus – Attraktion – aber ebenso, durch eben die Neuartigkeit auch eine gewisse Scheu, Vorsicht und Zurückhaltung – Repulsion
  • ein Film von Roman Polański, siehe unter dem deutschen Titel Ekel (Film)
  • eine Grindcore-Band, siehe Repulsion (Band)
