Rheobase

Rheobase

Die Rheobase ist die Schwellen-Stromintensität, bei der ein Nerv oder ein Muskel ein Aktionspotential auslöst. Zu ihrer Bestimmung benutzt man einen langen Impuls (zum Beispiel 1000ms), der gegenüber der Dauer eines Aktionspotentials als Gleichstrom gelten kann.

Die minimale Zeit, über die ein Reiz mit doppelter Rheobasestärke fließen muss, um gerade noch erregend zu wirken, nennt man Chronaxie.
