Río Chira ist der Name eines Flusses im nördlichen Peru, dessen Mündung etwa 20 km nördlich der Provinzhauptstadt Piura liegt. Der Fluss entspringt im Anden-Hochgebirge in Ecuador, nahe der Stadt Papaca in der Provinz Loja. Von dort fließt er rund 250 km in östlicher Richtung. Dicht hinter der Grenze zu Peru ist der Río Chira zum 885 Millionen m³ großen Poechos-Stausee aufgestaut und durchquert auf seinem Lauf später die Stadt Sullana.
