Robert F. Marx, alternativ Bob Marx (* 1933), war einer der Pioniere der "American Scuba divers" und ist bekannt für seine Arbeit und Veröffentlichungen zu den Themen Schiffwracks und Versunkene Schätze.
Sein Schatzjagd- und Unterwasser Archäologenkollege Edward Lee Spence hat Marx als den wahren Vater der Unterwasserarchäologie beschrieben.[1] Marx hat mehr als 5000 Tauchgänge absolviert[2] und hat über 800 wissenschaftliche Artikel und 59 Bücher über Geschichte, Archäologie, Schiffswracks und Entdeckungen geschrieben.[3] Marx ist mit Jennifer Marx verheiratet und lebt in Indiatlantic. Sie ist Mitautorin einer Menge seiner Bücher. Marx war Gründungsmitglied vom Council on Underwater Archaeology und der Sea Research Society, diente dem Society's Board of Advisors und 1972 nahm er an der Schaffung des "Research/professional degree" zum Doktor der Seegeschichte (Doctor of Marine Histories) teil .[4]
