Roger Alan Painter

Rozz Williams (eigentlich Roger Alan Painter; * 1963 in Pomona, Kalifornien; † 1. April 1998 in Los Angeles durch Suizid) war ein amerikanischer Sänger, Songschreiber und Künstler.

Williams wuchs mit seinen drei älteren Geschwistern (zwei Brüder und eine Schwester) in einer strengen Familie auf, die der Southern Baptist Convention angehörte. In seiner Teenagerzeit wurde er, anders als seine Geschwister, von der Punkrockmusikszene angezogen, welche seine musikalischen Frühwerke prägte.

1979 gründete er die Death-Rock-Band Christian Death. Weitere Projekte waren Premature Ejaculation, Daukus Karota, Shadow Project und Heltir. Er hinterließ bei seinem Suizid keinen Abschiedsbrief.
