Die Santana Blues Band ist eine in ihrer personellen Zusammensetzung sehr von Wechseln geprägte Gruppe, die seit dem Ende der 60er Jahre mit dem Gitarristen und Sänger Carlos Santana gespielt und sich zusammen mit ihm um die Verbreitung des Latin Rock verdient gemacht hat.
Die Band wurde 1966 in San Francisco gegründet, zur ersten Formation gehörten Tom Frazier (Gitarre), Mike Carabello (Percussion), Rod Harper (Schlagzeug), Gus Rodriguez (Bassgitarre) und Gregg Rolie (Orgel, Gesang). In den Folgejahren hat sich die Zusammensetzung der Gruppe sehr häufig und grundlegend verändert, 1971 bis 1972 kam es auch kurzzeitig zu einer Trennung zwischen Santana und der Band. Mitte der 1970er Jahre spielte die Band fusion-orientiert.
