Als Siderophagen werden Makrophagen bezeichnet, die Hämosiderin, ein Abbauprodukt des Blutfarbstoffes Hämoglobin, phagozytiert haben. Dem histologischen oder zytologischen Nachweis von Siderophagen kommt in der Pathologie diagnostische Bedeutung als Hinweis auf ältere Einblutungen zu.
