Sphere Project

Das Sphere Projekt ist eine Initiative zu einer Art Qualitätsmanagement von Nichtregierungsorganisationen. Die Gründung erfolgte im Juli 1997. Sphere Projekt wurde initiiert, um Qualitätsverbesserung in internationaler humanitärer Hilfe global und organisationsübergreifend zu koordinieren.

Projekte

Das Sphere Projekt soll erfahrungsgemäße Probleme aus der humanitären Arbeit beheben. Dazu dienen folgende Projekte:

  • Humanitäre Charta und Mindeststandards in der Katastrophenhilfe
  • Leitfaden für die Internationale Rotkreuz- und Rothalbmond-Bewegung und NROs in der Katastrophenhilfe wie Wasserversorgung, sanitäre Vorkehrungen, Ernährung, Lebensmittelhilfen, Unterkünfte, Lagerverwaltung und medizinische Dienste.
  • Phase I - Bereits bestehende Verfahren und Prozesse der Mitgliedsorganisationen sollen gesammelt und verglichen werden.
  • Phase II - 1999 startete die zweite Phase, hier sollen die Sphere Dokumente geprüft und erprobt werden, um offiziell angenommen zu werden und so als Arbeitsgrundlage zu dienen.

Des Weiteren wird versucht, Dritte Welt-Staaten mit in das Projekt einzubeziehen.
