Stephen Bergman

Samuel Shem (* 1944) ist das Pseudonym von Stephen Bergman, Professor für Psychiatrie an der Harvard Medical School. Er lebt mit seiner Frau und seiner Tochter in Boston.

Er lehrt als Gastdozent an verschiedenen Universitäten. Bergmann hat etliche Theaterstücke und vier Romane geschrieben. House of God und Mount Misery gelten als menschlich engagierte Portraits des Klinik- und Psychiatriealltags.
