Thai Fisherman Pants

Die Thai Fisherman Pants ist eine Wickelhose, die vorwiegend im südostasiatischen Raum getragen wird. Die Hose wird als Unisex-Kleidungsstück verstanden und ist vorwiegend in Thailand, aber auch in Laos und Kambodscha sowie in östlichen Bereichen Myanmars anzutreffen. Obwohl Thai Fisherman Pants früher lediglich in einer Einheitsgröße angefertigt wurden, ist es durchaus heute möglich, auch längere Hosen zu erwerben. Die traditionelle Fisherman Pant reicht einem Mann der genannten Regionen normalerweise bis zur Wade. Einige Handwerksbetriebe in Thailand haben sich darauf eingestellt, dass zunehmend auch großgewachsene Europäer ihre Produkte tragen. Die Weite der Hose wird durch eine bestimmte Wickeltechnik eingestellt. So passt sie sich stets dem Körper an. Hergestellt wird sie überwiegend aus Baumwolle, aber auch aus Rayon. Die Wickelhosen werden auch gerne von Rucksack-Touristen in den betreffenden Ländern getragen.
