The Alchemist (* 25. Oktober 1977 in Beverly Hills, Kalifornien; bürgerlich Alan Daniel Maman) ist ein US-amerikanischer Hip-Hop-Produzent, der bei Eminems Label Shady Records als Live DJ unter Vertrag steht.

Als Rapper begann The Alchemist 1993 seine Karriere in der Gruppe The Whooliganz als Mudfoot. Die Gruppe wurde von Cypress Hill und House of Pain entdeckt und wurde Mitglied bei den Soul Assassins. Nach der Auflösung der Gruppe blieb Alchemist im Umfeld von Cypress Hill und lernte bei DJ Muggs die Musikproduktion.[1]

Er produzierte Tracks für Mobb Deep, Eminem, Nas oder Jadakiss. Seit Mai 2005 steht er bei Shady Records als Eminems Live DJ unter Vertrag und fungierte nach dem Ausstieg von DJ Green Lantern bei der Anger Management Tour 3 als dessen Tour-DJ.[2] Außerdem produzierte er dort unter anderem einige Tracks auf dem Album Eminem Presents: The Re-Up. 2008 veröffentlichte er über iTunes die EP The Alchemist′s Cookbook: Better Living Through Chemistry.
