Tonypandy ist eine Stadt im Lokalverwaltungsbezirk Rhondda Cynon Taf in der Grafschaft Glamorgan in Südwales. Die Stadt liegt in dem Tal Rhondda Fawr, für dessen Bewohner Tonypandy die wichtigste lokale Einkaufssätte ist.

In der Nähe der Stadt befindet sich Mynydd y Gelli, eine Siedlung aus der Eisen- und Bronzenzeit. Berühmtheit erlangte die Stadt als Schauplatz des sogenannten Tonypandy-Aufstandes, einer innenpolitischen Unruhe im Jahr 1910, die aus einem lokalen Bergarbeiterstreik hervorging und landesweite Bedeutung erlangte.
