Baron Rotherwick

Baron Rotherwick, of Tylney im County of Southampton, ist ein erblicher britischer Adelstitel in der Peerage of the United Kingdom, benannt nach der Ortschaft Rotherwick, der von einem Zweig der Familie Cayzer geführt wird.

Verleihung

Der Titel wurde im Jahre 1939 an den Schiffsmagnaten und konservativen Politiker Herbert Robin Cayzer verliehen. Cayzer hatte den Bezirk Portsmouth South im House of Commons vertreten.

Weitere Titel

Vor seiner Erhebung in den Adelsstand war Cayzer bereits 1924 zu einem Baronet, of Tylney im County of Southampton, ernannt worden. Dieser Titel ist daher faktisch ein nachgeordneter Titel der Baronie.

Der Baron war der fünfte Sohn von Sir Charles Cayzer, 1. Baronet, of Gartmore. Die Barone stehen daher auch in der Erbfolge für diesen Titel. Da der jetzige Baron der nächste männliche Familienangehörige des derzeitigen Baronets ist, ist er zurzeit auch mutmaßlicher Titelerbe für diese Baronetswürde.
