Barr Pharmaceuticals ist ein US-amerikanisches Pharmaunternehmen mit Firmensitz in Pomona, New York. Das Unternehmen gehört zu den zehn größten Generikaherstellern weltweit. Barr Pharmaceuticals ist im Aktienindex S&P 500 gelistet.

Im Oktober 2006 wurde das kroatische Unternehmen Pliva von Barr Pharmaceuticals erworben. Die Leitung des Unternehmen hat Bruce Downey (Stand:2007). Das Unternehmen wurde 1970 im Bundesstaat New York gegründet.

Am 18. Juli 2008 wurde bekannt, dass Barr Pharmaceuticals von Teva Pharmaceutical Industries, dem israelischen Weltmarktführer im Bereich Generika, übernommen werden soll[2], was im Januar 2009 erfolgte[3].
