Der Type 4 Chi-To war der japanische Prototyp eines Kampfpanzers aus dem Zweiten Weltkrieg. Die Entwicklung begann im Jahr 1942 mit den ersten Plan, als Fahrgestell hätte man ein verändertes vom Chi-Ha verwendet. Zuerst wollte man 57mm ATG verenden der Plan wurde geändert im Juli 1943, um eine mit hoher Schnellfeuerkanone (Kopie des M29 Bofors 75mm AAG). Der erste Prototyp wurde im Mai 1944 fertig. Durch die Rohstoffknappheit wurden nur 6 Prototypen gebaut.
