Geschichte und Organisation
Die University of Adelaide wurde am 6. November 1874 gegründet und ist damit die älteste Universität in Südaustralien, die drittälteste Universität Australiens und älter als die meisten Universitäten Englands. Die Hochschule ist auf vier Standorte verteilt; der Hauptcampus befindet sich im Zentrum Adelaides an der Straße North Terrace, weitere Standorte sind Waite Campus, Roseworthy Campus und Thebarton Campus im Vorort von Thebarton.
Sie gehört zur Group of Eight und hat fünf Nobelpreisträger hervorgebracht. Im Jahr 2004 waren in der Universität 18.960 Studenten immatrikuliert, davon waren mehr als 3.000 ausländische Studenten aus mehr als 70 verschiedenen Ländern.
