Utaki

Ein Utaki (okinawanisch 御嶽) ist eine religiöse Stätte der einheimischen Religion von Okinawa. Weitere Bezeichnungen sind Kusatemui (腰当森), On und Ogamiyama (拝み山). An diesen Stätten werden die einheimischen Gottheiten der Ryūkyū-Inseln und die Ahnen verehrt. Eine Besonderheit dieser Stätten ist das "Jungen-Tabu", diese dürfen nur bestimmte Bereiche betreten.

In fast allen Burgen Okinawas, den sogenannten Gusuku, findet sich auch ein Utaki, daher sagt man, dass diese beiden in enger Beziehung stehen.
