Das Vancouver Police Department (VPD) ist der Polizeidienst der kanadischen Stadt Vancouver. Es ist mit der Aufrechterhaltung von Recht und Ordnung und den Kriminalermittlungen in Vancouver betraut. Sämtliche Vororte gehören zum Zuständigkeitsbereich der Royal Canadian Mounted Police. Die VPD wurde am 14. Juni 1886 ins Leben gerufen und bestand damals aus vier Beamten. Im Jahr 2005 hatte das VPD 1174 Beamte und ein Budget von 150 Millionen.

Zuständigkeitsbereiche

Die Stadt ist in vier Polizeibezirke unterteilt, die jeweils mehrere Stadtteile umfassen:

  • Bezirk 1 – Downtown, Granville und West End mit zwei Polizeiwachen
  • Bezirk 2 – Chinatown, Grandview-Woodland und Hastings-Sunrise mit drei Polizeiwachen
  • Bezirk 3 – Collingwood und South Vancouver mit zwei Polizeiwachen
  • Bezirk 4 – Kerrisdale, Oakridge und Marpole mit einer Polizeiwache
