Velotaxi (eigene Marketingschreibweise VELOTAXI) ist ein Unternehmen, das über ein Betriebsmodell, bestehend aus Werbevermarktung und Fahrradtaxen, verfügt und dies weltweit als Betriebsmodell lizenziert. Velotaxi vermarktet die CityCruiser genannten Fahrradtaxis des Herstellers Veloform als Werbemittel.

Geschichte

Velotaxi wurde 1997 in Berlin gegründet bei Ludger Matuszewski, um ein neues umweltgerechtes Nahverkehrssystem - finanziert durch das dahinter stehende Werbekonzept - umzusetzen. Gestartet wurde mit 30 Fahrradtaxen, modernen Rikschas, die von Velotaxi für den europäischen Markt entwickelt wurden. Heute sind weltweit ca. 1800 Fahrzeuge im Einsatz.

Velotaxi hat bis heute in 52 Ländern und über 120 Städten weltweit Partnerbetriebe aufgebaut und verkauft seinen CityCruiser weltweit über Partner.
